History of Mack Trucks
The Mack Brothers Company, now known as Mack Trucks, was established in 1900 by John “Jack” Mack and Augustus F. “Gus” Mack in Brooklyn, NY. The Mack brothers entered the vehicle manufacturing business in 1893, when they purchased the Fallesen and Berry carriage company, a carriage and wagon company that Jack began working at in 1890.
In 1917, Mack trucks gained their nickname when the British government bought the Mack AC model to deliver soldiers, provisions, and supplies to the front lines during World War I.
During the 1950s, the Mack L series trucks, which were manufactured between 1940 and 1956, showcased a sleek and enduring design that garnered immense popularity. Some versions of these trucks incorporated numerous aluminum parts and high-performance engines to effectively meet the transportation demands of long-haul operators on the West Coast.
Models of Mack Dump Trucks
The latest model of truck from Mack that has a Dump Truck variant is the Mack Granite series.
The Granite series has 7 different cab options, but a Lift Axle Dump and a standard Dump cab are the only dump bed options available. There are also options for a Standard Cement Mixer, a Bridge Mixer, a Tractor, a Rear Loader, and a Roll-Off beds available.
Price of Mack Granite Dump Trucks
Like stated above, the Mack Granite series truck has multiple options, causing the price to vary. On top of that, there are multiple other options for the exterior, interior, chassis, powertrain, axle & suspension and luxury features that can change the price depending on your needs. A new Mack Granite truck can have a price between $160,000 - $220,000 while a relatively new used version can fall be
As you can see above in our listings, there are Granite series trucks that fall under these price ranges. This is because of the different model years and features associated with these specific trucks. Older trucks can have even lower prices.

How Well Do Mack Trucks Hold Their Value?
Mack commercial trucks have a reputation for retaining their value admirably. If you're in the market for a pre-owned Mack dump truck, thanks to their exceptional construction, these trucks maintain a remarkably high resale value, even if they have a few years on them and have accumulated a substantial number of miles. You can expect to pay around $65,000 for a Mack truck that is five years old.
