The Calidonna Brothers, Dominick, Frank, & John, opened Clinton Tractor & Implement in 1953 as a response to a newspaper advertisement seeking a farm machinery dealer to serve the agriculture industry of Clinton & surrounding communities. At this time the brothers were representatives of Triad Tractor, a Ford farm & industrial equipment distributor in Yorkville, NY. The Calidonna Brothers purchased the property on Meadow Street that had formerly been the village's outdoor skating rink, and built a 100' x 70' building. Business boomed & additons were made to the building in 1959, 1970, 1982, and most recently in 1999 to accommodate the business's growth.
Presently John Sr's children, John Jr, Regina, Chris, & Becky, own and operate the business on the same principles as it was established. An enduring commitment to customer service is the driving force behind the business. Commended for their exceptional business practices, from parts & service, to sales & management, Clinton Tractor & Implement and the Calidonna Family have been recognized by many of the companies of which they represent. Notably, Clinton Tractor & Implement is one of an elite group of dealers honored with New Holland's President's Prestige Award annually; also named as Ferris Industries' New York State Dealer of the Year annually.
Looking to the future, a third generation of the Calidonna Family may be seen working diligently at the shop when not in school. Through the 54 years in business, the Calidonna Family has had to make many significant decisions to expand and/or mold the business to better fulfill customer need & demand to remain successful. The Calidonna Family looks forward to servicing the needs of the agriculture, construction, landscape, municipal, & consumer customer base of the Mohawk Valley for many years to come.
